Do you sometimes think you don't have time to get a sketch in? In 2022 I had many waits in medical waiting rooms (my cataract surgeries alone totalled 14) and did quick sketches of people at each appointment. The practice has certainly improved my people sketching skills. I've learnt that I can achieve more than expected using the continuous line technique. That really is the quickest method to use. Just try it and you will be surprised!
Here are some recent people sketches while trying out different tools. These first two were done with a marker, in a medical waiting room and at Fountain Gate Shopping Mall while waiting for family to arrive for lunch (we celebrated my 75th birthday at the Malaysian restaurant Pappa Rich). Sadly we hadn’t set foot in a mall for 3 years due to Covid! Perhaps it's time to start going again.
In this last sketch I tried out different colour pencils while waiting for friends to arrive for lunch at a cafe.
