Eat and Drink

 I was sketching indoors last week during a 35 degree centigrade day and decided to draw a sculpture we own...plus the living room setting.

J commissioned this sculpture from Melbourne sculptor Anne Anderson to commemorate the publication of his volume The Linguistics of Eating and Drinking, 2009. The ceramic sculpture rocks back and forth to the sound of a bell so the two figures alternately “eat” and “drink” from the apple and the cup which also move back and forth. A lot of fun!
