A Life Too Short

One of the patients I had been working with for some months was dying. She'd be dead that day or the next the husband told me. They had been so close, he seemed so composed. "Have to be brave for the children" he said. I took myself to the Guru Nanak Dev Healing Garden in the hospital that day and did these sketches.

Opened in late 2007, the trees have grown considerably in the indoor space.

A tall wooden carving in the middle of the garden.

On the 5th floor, the garden covers more than 4,000 sq feet. Money for the garden was raised by the Sikh community and the garden named after their spiritual founder.
